Employment Benefits for Trade Operatives In addition to generous hourly
rates operatives enjoyed the following additional benefits:-
Company Pension Scheme
The company contributes 6% of employees' gross earnings into a company
pension scheme for all operatives over 25 years of age, and who have
been with the company for 12 months. Operatives also have the opportunity
to make additional personal contributions, if they so wish.
Hospital Saturday
The company subscribe to Hospital Saturday fund for all employees who
have been with the company for more than three months. This provides
cash benefits towards dental care, optical care, hospitalisation, physiotherapy,
and many more. Employees can elect to pay an additional amount to cover
family members if they so wish.
Holidays
In addition to 20 statutory paid holidays and 8 paid bank holidays,
1 service day is awarded for every year worked over five years up to
a total of 5 additional service days.
Company Van
Operatives are provided with a company van, which they can use to travel
from home to work, and do other insignificant mileage, as defined by
the Inland Revenue, such that no taxable benefit is due.
Tool Allowance
A tool allowance is paid to operatives on a weekly basis.
