05 Oct 2020

BHE is committed to supporting the mental health of our team. By fostering a culture of openness and through training and support, we encourage peers to communicate about issues which may not always be visible.

The BHE Services team is backing World Mental Health Day 2020 on 10th October.

Introduced by the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992, the campaign is this year themed around ‘Mental Health for All’, and encourages investment that will make good mental health a reality for everyone, everywhere.

Mental health in our BHE workplace

BHE is committed to supporting the mental health of our team. By fostering a culture of openness and through training and support, we encourage peers to communicate about issues which may not always be visible.

With mens’ mental health of particular focus given the size and make-up of our engineer team, we understand that a well-supported and motivated team enables us to deliver our gas, heating, plumbing and electrical services safely. Across every aspect of the business, BHE provides an environment within which everyone can thrive.

Mental health in 2020

The World Federation for Mental Health reports that mental health conditions globally are increasing, with around 450 million people living with mental disorders that are among the leading causes of ill-health and disability worldwide.

This year in particular, the global health emergency presented by COVID-19 has impacted the mental health of many millions of people as a result of restrictions, social distancing, uncertainty around jobs and many other concerns, as well as the loss of many thousands of loved ones.

World Mental Health Day 2020 encourages awareness and openness, ensuring that those who need it can access support.
