When you’re in the market for a new hot water cylinder, you’ll soon come across the name ‘Megaflo’, as this is now one of the best-known brands available.
Why choose a Megaflo unvented water cylinder by BHE
Megaflo (also known as “Megaflow”) water cylinders are available in a range of sizes, to suit houses and commercial properties big and small.
Megaflo (often referred to as “Megaflow”) is a trade name for a specific model of unvented hot water cylinder, manufactured by long-established boiler manufacturer Heatrae Sadia.
Recognised for decades as a highly respected manufacturer of gas hot water cylinders, the British company manufactures its boilers in Warwick in the West Midlands, where it has been based for nearly a century.
Heatrae Sadia is now part of an international group which also features other well-known names in boiler and heating system manufacture, including Baxi in the domestic boiler market, and Potterton, which is better known for commercial installations.
An unvented hot water cylinder is fully sealed, and takes water directly from your mains supply. Now the most common type of water cylinder found in British homes, unvented cylinders are compact and need very little pipework.
Megaflo (or “Megaflow”) unvented water cylinders are easy to install, and their compact nature means you can have one fitted in a spot where you’ll hardly notice it.
Megaflo unvented cylinders are a popular choice for anyone who needs plenty of hot water for fast-filling baths and invigorating, powerful showers – which together might once have been considered quite a luxury!
As the Megaflo Eco is hooked up directly to your mains cold water supply, you’ll have mains pressure hot water readily available at all outlets. In addition, the Megaflo Eco or newer Eco Plus hot water cylinders can be expanded, eliminating the need for unsightly expansion vessels. Fewer fitted parts, of course, also means that there’s less that can go wrong.
The modern Megaflo Eco Plus models have improved upon their predecessors, offering an even faster water flow rate of up to 176 litres per minute. The indirect heating coils or electric heating elements fitted to these newer versions have also been upgraded, and heat up much more quickly than earlier models. So you get a continuous flow of hot water whenever you need it.

BHE summarises the benifits of Megaflo unvented water cylinders
Your new Megaflo unvented water cylinder should always be installed by a G3-certified engineer.
G3 certification is essential for heating engineers who install, commission and service unvented hot water systems, as well as solar thermal hot water systems and air/ground source heat pumps. G3 training covers aspects including relevant legislation such as the Water Regulations, Building Regulations and British Standards, unsafe and emergency situations, pipework, testing and safety controls.
