BHE donates gifts for Wigan & Bolton families

Local gas and renewable energy company BHE Services (Bolton) Limited is donating hundreds of presents to tenants of a housing group this Christmas.

The company, based at Wilkinson House on Radcliffe Road, Bolton, has donated 620 selection boxes to Your Housing Group for distribution to needy families and old folks in Bolton and Wigan.

Your Housing Group, whose headquarters are in Warrington, recently launched a fundraising campaign called ‘Manchester Challenge’ to provide 1,200 gift parcels for some of their tenants that are most in need this Christmas.

The parcels will include food items, toiletries, snacks and toys and Your Housing Group aims to deliver the parcels during December. The selection boxes donated by BHE Services (Bolton) Limited will go into the parcels.

Mike Robinson, Managing Director of BHE Services (Bolton) Limited, said: “It’s nice to help people and particularly so in the run-up to Christmas. It’s a special time of year and we hope these small selection boxes will be enjoyed by the recipients.”

BHE Services (Bolton) Limited has been based in the town since 1971. It provides a range of gas services, such as installing and servicing boilers, central heating systems, vented and unvented water cylinders, radiators, pumps and associated pipe work to local authorities, housing associations, private homeowners and businesses.

Your Housing Group has over 32,000 properties across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire, the Peak District, Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Humberside.

It was formed in 2012 following the merger of Harvest Housing Group and Arena Housing Group. It plans to build 1,400 affordable new homes in the next three years.

BHE Services (Bolton) Limited is a Green Deal Approved Installer* (Reg. No. NAP 21033 *Gas-fired condensing boilers & heating controls) as well as an installer of the latest renewable energy technologies. This includes heat pumps and other products approved under the UK Microgeneration Certification Scheme.

The Green Deal is a government initiative to help householders pay for home improvements, such as new insulation, windows, doors and heat pumps to make homes warmer and more energy-efficient.

Through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) people in receipt of certain benefits can have free cavity wall and loft insulation fitted, and a replacement boiler. Big energy suppliers fund the programme.
