Bolton and North West-based BHE is supporting 2022's Gas Safety Week, the 12th annual awareness event promoted by Gas Safe Register.

How gas safe is your home?

Gas Safe Register advises that a huge 1 in 5 homes in the North West has a dangerous gas appliance. Local to our Bolton office, in the last year 316 unsafe appliances were found, including boilers, gas fires and gas cookers.

Demonstrating the dangers of carbon monoxide, a North West family of three was poisoned by carbon monoxide which seeped into their kitchen due to a fault in their boiler flue, a church chimney collapsed following an explosion caused by faulty gas boilers, and a family was hospitalised after a faulty gas oven door allowed carbon monoxide to leak into their home.
